چکیده

This paper compares two multiuser transmission techniques in the context of wideband upstream powerline communications. The first one is based on the combination of CAP and CDMA, the second one is based on DMT and relies on a share of the different carriers among the users. The issue of reception under ideal synchronisation assumptions and a simplified noise environment is addressed. Fractional FIR linear and decision feedback joint detectors are derived. A heuristic resource (code/tone) allocation algorithm is proposed.

Erlang Capacity of a Power Controlled CDMA System

A limited amount of bandwidth is allocated for wireless services. A wireless system is required to accommodate as many users as possible by effectively sharing the limited bandwidth. Therefore, in the field of communications, the term multiple access could be defined as a means of allowing multiple users to simultaneously share the finite bandwidth with least possible degradation in the perform...

User Density in a Cluster Underwater Acoustic Network

It is well known that a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) scheme achieves higher user density in a cellular network with radio frequency signal in a terrestrial environment than either Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) or (Frequency Division Multiple Access) FDMA could. The concept of a cellular (cluster) network has been introduced for underwater acoustic communications. However, its per...

Iterative Multiuser Detection for DS-CDMA/MC-CDMA Powerline Communications

The increasing ubiquity of the Internet is creating a rapidly growing demand for larger bandwidth to the home. Currently the narrowband twisted-pair access network from an optical network unit (ONU) or a central office (CO) to a customer’s premises, the socalled “last dirty mile”, is the bottleneck for Internet traffic. The increasing demand for a home/office network further necessitates a flex...

Performance Analysis of Aola Technique for Wireless Communication

In wireless communication, multiplexing & multiple access concept is most important. In most communication systems require, sharing of channels. In Multiple Access techniques types such as FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, & OFDM. OFDM based transmission system uses CP in an MB-OFDM symbol in order to maintain the orthogonality of Trasmission.Present days ultra-wideband systems use multi-band OFDM techniques f...

Channel reuse strategies for indoor infrared wireless communications

We examine systems of fixed-channel reuse for base stations in an indoor infrared wireless communication system. The following techniques are compared: • time-division multiple access (TDMA) using on-off keying (OOK) or pulse-position modulation (PPM); • frequency-division multiple access (FDMA) using binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) or quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK); • code-division mult...
